A HOUSE RESOLUTION to recognize the work of the
Indiana Youth Services Association, and particularly of its
member bureau Reach for Youth, Inc.
Whereas, the Indiana Youth Service Association (IYSA) is
an organization composed of youth service bureaus from across
Indiana; and,
Whereas, the IYSA furthers the goals of its member bureaus
by assisting and advising them in the areas of their core
responsibilities, including advocacy for and representation of
children and youth, prevention of delinquency in youth,
community education about services available to those who
need them, and the maintenance of a shared network between
bureaus for information and referral; and,
Whereas, Reach for Youth is an IYSA member bureau serving the Indianapolis area, attempting to meet the needs of anyone who asks for their help; and,
Whereas, Reach for Youth assists its neighbors in the community particularly through its offers of behavioral health services for families, sexual health services for families, education support services, and the diversion of at-risk youth from the courts and the justice system; and,
Whereas, the charitable work of Reach for Youth, and other
youth service bureaus like it, is substantially made possible
thanks to the efforts of the IYSA in assisting and coordinating
activity and information between member bureaus: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
commends and sincerely thanks the Indiana Youth Services
Association and its member bureaus, particularly Reach for Youth,
Inc., for the many services they perform in Indiana communities and
homes, recognizing that such work is critical to the success and well-
being of many disadvantaged youth and their families across Indiana.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House transmit a copy
of this resolution to the boards of Reach for Youth, Inc., and the
Indiana Youth Services Association.
