A RESOLUTION honoring Indianapolis Fire Department
Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor.
Whereas, The Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation
(MDFF) has been serving families throughout Indiana in
partnership with the Indianapolis Fire Department for 56
years;
Whereas, Muscular dystrophy is a genetic disorder that
weakens the muscles that help the body move;
Whereas, Those suffering from muscular dystrophy are
often forced to endure unforeseen or lengthy hospital stays;
Whereas, Through the efforts of Battalion Chief Dudley
Taylor, children suffering from this terrible disease have been
able to enjoy Christmas a little more;
Whereas, For 23 years, Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor has
quietly donated his time to help MDFF organize and present
the annual Christmas party for those in need;
Whereas, During this Christmas party each child is given
an opportunity to meet Santa, receive a gift, and enjoy a meal;
Whereas, Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor works behind the
scenes, without fanfare, to help those in pain and who are
suffering during Christmas; and
Whereas, Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor serves as a shining
example of all that is good and kind in our society: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives acknowledges the many hours of dedicated service Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor has given to make the lives of children suffering from muscular dystrophy a little happier during Christmas.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to Battalion Chief Dudley Taylor and his family.
