HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION

        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the Indiana State Fair.

    Whereas, Each year the Indiana State Fair submits exhibits and programming to the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) to be judged against fairs and events throughout North America;

    Whereas, The IAFE presents the John Deere Agriculture Awards at its annual convention for programs that best represent agriculture to visitors;

    Whereas, The State Fair's "Year of Pigs presented by Indiana Pork Farmers" met many of the IAFE's criteria with its varied programs, interactive displays, and family activities;

    Whereas, The 2010 Indiana State Fair won three first place awards, the Best of Division (fairs that have attendance of 500,000 to 1,000,000), and the coveted Judge's Choice Award for excellence in promoting an agricultural product leading up to and during the fair;

    Whereas, The Indiana State Fair is an outstanding representation of the lives and activities of Hoosiers throughout our state; and

    Whereas, It is fit and proper that the Indiana State Fair should receive special recognition for the programs and exhibits displayed throughout the 2010 Indiana State Fair: Therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the Indiana State Fair for the awards received from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, including the coveted Judge's Award, for the 2010 Indiana State Fair.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to the Indiana State Fair Commission.
