RESOLUTION
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION memorializing Specialist
Arronn Fields.
Whereas, The people of the State of Indiana mourn the loss
of 27 year old United States Army Specialist Arronn David
Fields;
Whereas, We wish to join with the family, friends, and
fellow servicemen and servicewomen of Specialist Arronn
Fields and extend to his family sincere and heartfelt
sympathy in this time of loss;
Whereas, Specialist Fields died May 21, 2012, in
Afghanistan while conducting a mounted patrol that was
struck by a rocket propelled grenade attack;
Whereas, The Knightsville native, graduate of Northview
High School, and 2006 enlistee into the Indiana National
Guard completed a tour of duty in Iraq and was deployed in
January 2012 to Afghanistan with the 381st Military Police
Company, 81st Troop Command as part of Task Force
Guardian, an operational component of Operation Enduring
Freedom;
Whereas, Specialist Fields received numerous military operational honors, including the RSP Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training Completion Diploma, Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Support of the 108th Military Police Company (Airborne) (Air Assault) during Operation Iraqi Freedom, American
Legion Post 117 Certificate of Honor, and the Outstanding
Unload Performance certificate;
Whereas, Our nation shall never forget the brave men and
women who serve their country with honor and bravery and
the families and friends of those who do not return; and
Whereas, Specialist Arronn Fields chose to dedicate his life
to the fight for freedom and, like other fallen heroes, will be
remembered forever for his sacrifice: Therefore,
SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly expresses with this
resolution its deep sympathy to the family of Specialist Arronn Fields
at the loss of their loved one and the pride that all Hoosiers feel for
having had a young man so brave and proud to protect us.
SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
Representatives transmit a copy of this resolution to the family of
Specialist Arronn Fields.
