HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION



        A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the Ben Davis High School boys track team.

    Whereas, The members of the 2009-2010 boys track team at Ben Davis High School of Indianapolis have set themselves apart as a result of their achievements in the high school sports world;

    Whereas, The team won its third consecutive state track and field title at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington on June 5, 2010, Ben Davis High School's first "three-peat" in track and field competition;

    Whereas, The Giants finished the 107th annual boys event with 47 points;

    Whereas, The Ben Davis 3200 meter relay team won the blue ribbon in the first timed final of the day, securing the school's first state championship in the 4x800 meter relay;

    Whereas, Coach Mike Davidson is the inspiration behind these gifted athletes;

    Whereas, Each member of the Giants team was an integral part of the team, each contributing to the victory; and

    Whereas, Outstanding accomplishments such as this deserve special recognition: Therefore,


Be it resolved by the House of Representatives

of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,

the Senate concurring:

    SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly congratulates the 2009-2010 Ben Davis High School boys track and field team on its third consecutive state championship and wishes team members continued success in all their future endeavors.
    SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit copies of this resolution to coach Mike Davidson, the members of the boys track team, Principal Joel McKinney, and Superintendent Dr. Terry Thompson.
