    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SOURCE: IC 2-5-29.1; (11)IN1380.1.1. -->     SECTION 1. IC 2-5-29.1 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE AS A NEW CHAPTER TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2011]:
     Chapter 29.1. Interim Study Committee on Special Education
    Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "committee" refers to the interim study committee on special education established by section 2 of this chapter.
    Sec. 2. The interim study committee on special education is established.
    Sec. 3. The committee shall study and make recommendations to the legislative council concerning the following:
        (1) The placement of students in special education programs.
        (2) The waiver process for high school graduation for students in special education programs.
    Sec. 4. Before November 1, 2011, the committee shall issue a final report to the legislative council containing the findings and recommendations of the committee.
    Sec. 5. This chapter expires December 31, 2011.
