Synopsis: Tuition at state educational institutions. Provides that the general assembly establishes tuition rates for the state educational institutions in the biennial budget. Prohibits the boards of trustees of state educational institutions from changing the established tuition rates. Provides that if the general assembly fails to establish tuition rates in a biennial budget, the most recent tuition rates continue in effect without modification until the general assembly acts.

Effective: July 1, 2013.

    A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning higher education.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

(a) The general assembly shall establish the tuition rates for Ball State University in the state's biennial budget. The board of trustees may not change the established tuition rates.
    (b) If the general assembly fails to establish tuition rates for Ball State University in the state's biennial budget, the most recent tuition rates established continue in effect without modification until the general assembly acts.
