A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
health.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:

SECTION 1. IC 16-39-9-3.1 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
1, 2012]: Sec. 3.1. A provider may not charge a fee for searching
for or copying medical records if the provider is not able to find
and copy the records.
