Bill Title: Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that if the defendant committed the offense of leaving the scene of an accident in violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code and the accident resulted in the death of a person and at the time of the offense, the defendant was: (1) driving under the influence of alcohol, other drug or drugs, intoxicating compound or compounds or any combination thereof as defined by the Illinois Vehicle Code; or (2) operating the motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device as defined in the Illinois Vehicle Code shall be an aggravating factor that is accorded weight in favor of imposing a term of imprisonment or may be considered by the court as reasons to impose a more severe sentence under the Code.
