2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert L. "Bob" Grazier of Wadsworth, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 21, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was born on December 2, 1930 in | ||||||
6 | Millheim, Pennsylvania; his parents were Russell P. Grazier and | ||||||
7 | Bertha Grazier; he married Mary Ann Tiernan on September 8, | ||||||
8 | 1951 in Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier attended Miles Township schools, | ||||||
10 | where he graduated in May of 1948; after graduation, he joined | ||||||
11 | the United States Air Force; after completing basic training in | ||||||
12 | Texas, he was assigned to Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, | ||||||
13 | where he was assigned as an aircraft engine mechanic; he also | ||||||
14 | served at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts and Hickam | ||||||
15 | Air Force Base in Hawaii; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, After his military service, Robert Grazier and his | ||||||
17 | wife moved back to Illinois; after working at Commonwealth | ||||||
18 | Edison for a short time, he briefly owned and operated a | ||||||
19 | trucking business; he was later employed by Dan Lodesky | ||||||
20 | Trucking as a diesel mechanic for many years until his | ||||||
21 | retirement in March of 1993; and

1 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was a member of Our Lady of | ||||||
2 | Humility Catholic Church, the Lake County Radio Control Club, | ||||||
3 | and Teamsters Local 301; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier enjoyed building and customizing | ||||||
5 | tanks and trailers; he built a motor home and many other things | ||||||
6 | related to the trucking industry; he also enjoyed building his | ||||||
7 | own flower boxes and a garden, as well as driving his Kubota | ||||||
8 | tractors; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier was preceded in death by his sons, | ||||||
10 | Barry J. Grazier and James R. Grazier; his parents; his | ||||||
11 | brother, Don Grazier; his son-in-law, Jim Grazier; and his | ||||||
12 | mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Clara Tiernan; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Robert Grazier is survived by his loving wife of | ||||||
14 | 65 years, Mary Ann Grazier; his children, Kenneth (Diane) | ||||||
15 | Grazier, Thomas (Susan) Grazier, and Dianne (Gerald) | ||||||
16 | Richardson; his daughter-in-law, Heather Grazier; his | ||||||
17 | grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) Grazier, Jennifer (Dan) Resch, | ||||||
18 | Robert J. (Sharon) Grazier, Christopher (Stephanie) Grazier, | ||||||
19 | Rebecca Grazier, Michelle (Justin) Dosser, Amanda (Justin) | ||||||
20 | Thompson, Matthew Richardson, Adam Grazier, Alec Grazier, and | ||||||
21 | Danielle Grazier; his great-grandchildren, Isaac Resch, | ||||||
22 | Abigail Grazier, Audrey Grazier, and Alison Grazier; his | ||||||
23 | brothers, David (Connie) Grazier and Edwin (Rhena) Grazier; and |

1 | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
4 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert L. "Bob" | ||||||
5 | Grazier; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Robert Grazier as an expression of | ||||||
8 | our sympathy.
