| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles Carroll "Charlie" Crabtree of | ||||||
4 | Normal, who passed away on December 5, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree was born in Frankfort, Indiana to | ||||||
6 | Ewell and Gladys Davis Crabtree on June 2, 1946; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Air Force and married Kathy Quiram in Benson on April | ||||||
8 | 8, 1972; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree worked as manager of computer | ||||||
10 | operations at Country Financial for 36 years; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree drove a school bus for the Unit 5 | ||||||
12 | school district for 19 years; he was an avid fan and supporter | ||||||
13 | of athletic events at Unit 5, including announcing and keeping | ||||||
14 | score at games and the State Farm Holiday Classic; he was | ||||||
15 | chosen by students as grand marshal of the Normal Community | ||||||
16 | West High School homecoming parade; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree served as usher at Tri-Valley | ||||||
18 | High School Vikings' games; he drove the church bus, chaperoned | ||||||
19 | the youth and senior citizens trips, and was a Sunday school | ||||||
20 | director at St. John's; he was second in the nation raising | ||||||
21 | money for Walk for Mankind; he enjoyed spending time with his |

1 | family, gardening and yard work, country music shows, having | ||||||
2 | garage sales, and shopping at Menard's, where he was nicknamed | ||||||
3 | "Rebate King"; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Lela | ||||||
6 | Quiram; and his brother, Bob Crabtree; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Charlie Crabtree is survived by his wife, Kathy; | ||||||
8 | his daughters, Nikki Segobiano and Candace (Sean) Jablonski; | ||||||
9 | his grandchildren, Kiely Segobiano and Caleb and Trevor | ||||||
10 | Jablonski; his brother, Gene (Mary) Crabtree; his sister, Anita | ||||||
11 | (Charlie) Crowe; and his sister-in-law, Barb Crabtree; | ||||||
12 | therefore, be it

13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Charles Carroll "Charlie" Crabtree and extend our sincere | ||||||
16 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
17 | him; and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Charles Crabtree as an expression of | ||||||
20 | our deepest sympathy.
