2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gerald Herman Stewart of Milan, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on August 23, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart was born on August 26, 1931 in | ||||||
6 | Monmouth; his parents were Herman and Mildred Melaner Stewart; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart was a United States Air Force | ||||||
9 | veteran and retired after 20 years of service; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart worked as a sheet metal installer | ||||||
11 | and was part of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 91; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart was a 44-year member of the Eureka | ||||||
13 | Lodge 69 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Milan; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart enjoyed woodworking in his earlier | ||||||
15 | years; he also loved flower gardening; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart was preceded in death by his | ||||||
17 | parents; his brother, Howard Stewart; and his sister, Jean | ||||||
18 | Larson; and

1 | WHEREAS, Gerald Stewart is survived by his daughter, | ||||||
2 | Cynthia Reed; his granddaughter, Mary E. Hanson; his | ||||||
3 | great-grandchildren, Jonathon T. and Julia C. Hanson; and his | ||||||
4 | sisters, Margaret Sonkel and Mary Vance; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald Herman Stewart; | ||||||
8 | and be it further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Gerald Stewart as an expression of | ||||||
