1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joe L. "Mick" Vrban of Colona, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on September 30, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mick Vrban was born in Moline to Joe F. and Elinor | ||||||
6 | Robinson Vrban on August 11, 1940; he graduated from United | ||||||
7 | Township High School and enlisted in the United States Army, | ||||||
8 | serving in Germany and Washington D.C.; after being honorably | ||||||
9 | discharged at the rank of Sergeant, he served four more years | ||||||
10 | of reserve duty; he married Sandra Frame Morris in Silvis in | ||||||
11 | 1968 and happily chose to be dad to her four children; they | ||||||
12 | added three more children and raised their family in Green | ||||||
13 | River; and

14 | WHEREAS, Mick Vrban proudly worked for John Deere Harvester | ||||||
15 | Works; he retired in 1997 after 30 years of service; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Mick Vrban was an active member and former | ||||||
17 | Worshipful Master at Clement Masonic Lodge 680, Colona; he was | ||||||
18 | also a member of the Colona/Green Rock American Legion, where | ||||||
19 | he proudly served on the memorial rifle squad honoring other | ||||||
20 | veterans; when his sons were young, he was a Boy Scout troop | ||||||
21 | leader; he loved his family, community, and country; he enjoyed | ||||||
22 | sharing simple joys with his grandchildren, including fishing |

1 | on the banks of the canal, worm hunting, backyard archery, | ||||||
2 | whittling sticks, and collecting coins; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Mick Vrban was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
4 | his wife, Sandra; his son, Jim; and his granddaughter, Amy | ||||||
5 | Lynn; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Mick Vrban is survived by his sons, Dean (Brenda) | ||||||
7 | Vrban, Scott (Dawn) Vrban, and Carl (Vicky) Vrban; his | ||||||
8 | daughters, Sherry (Joe) Lambert, Jennifer (Jason) Kneen, and | ||||||
9 | Mikki (Brian) Vrban Krantz; his more than 30 grandchildren and | ||||||
10 | great-grandchildren; his brother, James L. "Jocko" (Carole) | ||||||
11 | Vrban; and his sister, Carol Stout; therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Joe L. "Mick" Vrban and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
16 | further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of Mick Vrban as an expression of our | ||||||
19 | deepest sympathy.
