SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Robert "Bruce" Stevenson Jr. of Sun City,
who passed away on June 2, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Robert Stevenson Jr. was born in Elgin to Robert
B. and Helen (Deak) Stevenson on September 11, 1939; he
graduated from Elgin High School in 1958 and remained in the
Elgin area for his entire life; he proudly served in the United
States Navy from September of 1958 through 1962; and
WHEREAS, Robert Stevenson Jr. will be best remembered for
his passion for volunteering for Christian Rock concerts; and
WHEREAS, Robert Stevenson Jr. was preceded in death by his
parents; and
WHEREAS, Robert Stevenson Jr. is survived by his wife of 48
years, Kay (Kellermann) Stevenson; his daughters, Rebecca
(Jeff) Crownover and Sara (Dan) Sitkie; his granddaughters,
Heather and Emily Sitkie; and other extended family members;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

Robert "Bruce" Stevenson Jr., and extend our sincere
condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Robert Stevenson Jr. as an
expression of our deepest sympathy.
