| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Dan E. Parr, who passed away on September | ||||||
| 4 | 8, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Dan Parr was born
in Waukegan to Dan Parr and | ||||||
| 6 | Alice Hilda (Steele) on August 22, 1925; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
| 7 | Air Force as a navigator from 1944 to 1946; he married Dorothy | ||||||
| 8 | Pasiewicz, and they had 54 years together and raised two | ||||||
| 9 | daughters; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Dan Parr built a career in manufacturing sales; he | ||||||
| 11 | retired after 38 years with
Fansteel/HK Porter; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dan Parr met Mary (Mavon) Ellmore in Dunedin, | ||||||
| 13 | Florida in 2001; he enjoyed having family and friends visit him | ||||||
| 14 | in Florida and at his home at Pine Lake in
Clintonville, | ||||||
| 15 | Wisconsin; at the age of 86,
he was proud to participate in an | ||||||
| 16 | Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Dan Parr was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 18 | Dorothy (Pasiewicz); his daughter, Geraldine Parr; his | ||||||
| 19 | parents; his sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Shisler; and his | ||||||
| 20 | sons-in-law, Kurt McKenzie and Gerald T. Altman; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Dan Parr is
survived by Mavon; his daughter, Linda | ||||||
| 2 | Parr Altman (Robert Marling); his granddaughter, Daniellinda
| ||||||
| 3 | Schooley (Eric Schleef); and his great-granddaughter, Audrey | ||||||
| 4 | Delilah Schleef; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Dan E. Parr and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 8 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Dan Parr as an expression of our | ||||||
| 11 | deepest sympathy.
