SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Milton R. Johnson of Moline, who passed
4away on September 20, 2018; and
5 WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was born in Moline to Oscar and
6Hildur Johnson on January 21, 1928; he graduated from Moline
7Sr. High School in 1946 and from Augustana College in 1952; he
8married Beverly Bardoel at the Ascension Chapel at Augustana
9College on May 2, 1953; and
10 WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was a veteran of the United States
11Navy and served in World War II; he retired from Quad City Die
12Casting Co. in Moline; and
13 WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was active in Cub Scouts and Boy
14Scout Troop 3345 as an adult leader and Scoutmaster for many
15years; he was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church and the
16Thor Lodge Viking I.O.V; he enjoyed fishing and made many trips
17to Canada with his friends; and
18 WHEREAS, Milton Johnson was preceded in death by his wife,
19Beverly; his parents; and his sisters, Gladys Wilson and Joyce
20Neaman; and

1 WHEREAS, Milton Johnson is survived by his sons, Milton
2Dean (Carol) Johnson and Dennis (Pamela) Johnson; his daughter,
3Cheryl (Joe) Withers; his three grandchildren; his two
4great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Betts Meyers and Maureen
5Archibald; therefore, be it
6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Milton R. Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Milton Johnson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
