2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Frederick Ray Sparks, Sr. of Rock Island, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on June 19, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was born on October 15, 1938 | ||||||
6 | in Hannibal, Missouri; his parents were Lewis and Irene Herring | ||||||
7 | Sparks; he married Sharon Lynne Minnich on August 9, 1958 at | ||||||
8 | Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. proudly served his country | ||||||
10 | in the United States Marine Corps; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. worked as a union pipefitter | ||||||
12 | for United Association Local 25 in Rock Island for many years | ||||||
13 | until his retirement in 2000; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was a gifted mechanic and | ||||||
15 | welder; he was also an avid duck hunter, deer hunter, and | ||||||
16 | all-around outdoorsman; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | wife, Sharon; his parents; and his sister, Norma Tollenaer; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Frederick Sparks, Sr. is survived by his children, |

1 | Lewis (Kym) Sparks II, Frederick R. "Pete" Sparks, Jr., and | ||||||
2 | Lynne Sparks; his grandchildren, Fred Sparks III, Dr. Jesse | ||||||
3 | (Omid Keshtkar) Sparks, and Jamie Sparks; and his | ||||||
4 | great-granddaughter, Alexis McClay; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Frederick Ray Sparks, | ||||||
8 | Sr.; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Frederick Sparks, Sr. as an | ||||||
11 | expression of our sympathy.
