2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Vincent Frank Klauer Jr. of Rock Island, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on August 5, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was born in Rock Island to | ||||||
6 | Vincent Sr. and Antoinette Morlock Klauer on March 27, 1928; | ||||||
7 | the oldest of ten siblings, he enjoyed working on cars and | ||||||
8 | taking family camping trips in his younger years; he was a | ||||||
9 | veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean | ||||||
10 | War; he married Beverly J. McGrew in Rock Island on June 17, | ||||||
11 | 1950; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. worked as an electrical | ||||||
13 | supervisor for Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric, currently | ||||||
14 | Mid-American Energy, and retired in 1990 after 41 years of | ||||||
15 | service; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was a member of St. Pius X | ||||||
17 | Catholic Church in Rock Island, the Knights of Columbus Allouez | ||||||
18 | Council 658, the Rock Island Elks Lodge 980, and the Moline | ||||||
19 | American Legion Post 246; he spent his retirement years | ||||||
20 | volunteering as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and adoration | ||||||
21 | adorer; he frequently spent time at church helping with | ||||||
22 | maintenance projects; he spent his recreational time fishing, |

1 | hunting, and golfing; he was the ultimate do-it-yourselfer, | ||||||
2 | constantly working on electrical, mechanical, woodworking, and | ||||||
3 | remodeling projects at home and for family and friends; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
5 | wife, Beverly; his parents; his son, Dennis Klauer; his | ||||||
6 | grandchildren, Brett and Trish Klauer; and his siblings, Fr. | ||||||
7 | Arnold Klauer, Theresa DeCrane, and Janet Norman; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Vincent Klauer Jr. is survived by his sons, Terry | ||||||
9 | (Ann) Klauer and Glenn (Carol) Klauer; his grandchildren, | ||||||
10 | Mychele Mack, Jessica (Peter) Martinez, and Allison and Ketty | ||||||
11 | Klauer; his great-grandchildren, Brooks and Glavin Klauer and | ||||||
12 | Vincent Martinez; and his siblings, Richard Klauer, Clarence | ||||||
13 | (Shirley) Klauer, William (Kay) Klauer, David (Jean) Klauer, | ||||||
14 | Bernard (Carol) Klauer, and Cecilia Kargl; therefore, be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | Vincent Frank Klauer Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
18 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
19 | further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Vincent Klauer Jr. as an expression | ||||||
22 | of our deepest sympathy.
