2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles C. Ulfig Jr. of Coal Valley, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on July 24, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was born in Batavia to Charles Sr. | ||||||
6 | and Jenny (Johnson) Ulfig on June 7, 1928; he served in the | ||||||
7 | U.S. Navy during World War II and then earned a bachelor's | ||||||
8 | degree in engineering from the University of Illinois; he | ||||||
9 | married Patricia J. Bradshaw in Rock Island on April 12, 1952; | ||||||
10 | and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig worked for the Victor Gasket Co., | ||||||
12 | retiring as national sales manager in 1990; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was a member of the Rock Island | ||||||
14 | Moose Lodge, Rock Island VFW Post #1303, and the University of | ||||||
15 | Illinois Engineering Society; he enjoyed stamp and coin | ||||||
16 | collecting, golfing, fishing, and cooking; and

17 | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
18 | Patricia; his son, Charles Ulfig; and his brother, James Ulfig; | ||||||
19 | and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig is survived by his children, Ralph |

2 | William (Helen) Ulfig; his grandchildren, Brandon (Sheri) | ||||||

9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
10 | Charles C. Ulfig Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
