2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Daniel J. "Dan" Arnold, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on November 17, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was born to Sergeant Major LeRoy Julius | ||||||
6 | and Clara Abbott Arnold; he graduated from Northern Illinois | ||||||
7 | University in 1981, with a degree in Business/Marketing; he was | ||||||
8 | a lifelong student of military history and joined the National | ||||||
9 | Guard to both serve his country and pay for college; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was the founder and CEO of Road Ranger | ||||||
11 | LLC; he and his wife, Linda, started with a single store | ||||||
12 | shortly after getting married and grew it into the company it | ||||||
13 | is today; he was awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young | ||||||
14 | Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2009; and

15 | WHEREAS, Dan Arnold was actively involved with many | ||||||
16 | organizations, as Board Member of Christ for All Nations | ||||||
17 | (CFaN), as Chairman of the Board of the Transfer Foundation, as | ||||||
18 | Director with Ray Comfort's Living Waters Publications, the | ||||||
19 | Gideons International, and many others; his past service | ||||||
20 | includes, founding member of Reformers Unanimous, 5-term | ||||||
21 | Vice-Chairman of the Illinois Historical Preservation Society, | ||||||
22 | Director and Treasurer of the Rockford Boys & Girls Club, on |

1 | the Board of Advisors to Northern Illinois University, various | ||||||
2 | positions in Ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ, and | ||||||
3 | others too numerous to list; along with his wife Linda, he | ||||||
4 | founded multiple charitable foundations, including the Daniel | ||||||
5 | and Linda Arnold Scholarship Fund at Gordon-Conwell | ||||||
6 | Theological Seminary and the Arnold Family Charitable Trust, | ||||||
7 | which assists Christian organizations worldwide; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Dan Arnold is survived by his wife, Linda; his | ||||||
9 | twin daughters, Cristina and Giselle; his sisters, Debbie (Jay) | ||||||
10 | Montange and Sandy (Kenneth) Simmons; his brother, Clayton | ||||||
11 | (Debbie) Arnold; his mother-in-law, Eloisa Eckmann (James | ||||||
12 | Harders); his sister-in-law, Gina (Scott) Wells; his | ||||||
13 | brothers-in-law, Adam (Angie) Leddy, John (Sue) Leddy, and | ||||||
14 | Capt. Lawrence F. Eckmann; countless nieces, nephews, and | ||||||
15 | cousins; his aunt, Millie Janisch; and his uncles; therefore, | ||||||
16 | be it

17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
19 | Daniel J. "Dan" Arnold, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
20 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
21 | further

22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
23 | presented to the family of Dan Arnold as an expression of our |
