2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Mary Ruth Hurley Cullicott of River | ||||||
4 | Forest, who passed away on September 3, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was born on August 31, 1911 in | ||||||
6 | Oak Park; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was a graduate of Ascension | ||||||
8 | Elementary School, Trinity High School, and Rosary College of | ||||||
9 | Arts and Sciences; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mary Ruth Cullicott served | ||||||
11 | her church and community; she was an active member of St. Luke | ||||||
12 | Parish in River Forest for 43 years; she donated her time and | ||||||
13 | energy to Oak Park Hospital, where she was the longest-serving | ||||||
14 | volunteer for 45 years, and was involved in Misericordia, | ||||||
15 | Trinity High School, and the Oak Park and River Forest Infant | ||||||
16 | Welfare Society; in recent years, she spent her time knitting | ||||||
17 | scarves, lap blankets, and baby blankets for the homeless and | ||||||
18 | various other charities; and

19 | WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was preceded in death by a | ||||||
20 | daughter, Ann (Larry) Martin; her first husband, Neil C. | ||||||
21 | Hurley; and her second husband, George E. Cullicott; and

1 | WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott is survived by 2 children, | ||||||
2 | Honey (George) Gfroerer and Molly (Richard "Whitey") King; and | ||||||
3 | her many step-children, grandchildren, and | ||||||
4 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Ruth Hurley | ||||||
8 | Cullicott; and be it further
| ||||||
9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Mary Ruth Cullicott as an expression | ||||||
11 | of our sympathy.
