SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Mary Ruth Hurley Cullicott of River
Forest, who passed away on September 3, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was born on August 31, 1911 in
Oak Park; and
WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was a graduate of Ascension
Elementary School, Trinity High School, and Rosary College of
Arts and Sciences; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mary Ruth Cullicott served
her church and community; she was an active member of St. Luke
Parish in River Forest for 43 years; she donated her time and
energy to Oak Park Hospital, where she was the longest-serving
volunteer for 45 years, and was involved in Misericordia,
Trinity High School, and the Oak Park and River Forest Infant
Welfare Society; in recent years, she spent her time knitting
scarves, lap blankets, and baby blankets for the homeless and
various other charities; and
WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott was preceded in death by a
daughter, Ann (Larry) Martin; her first husband, Neil C.
Hurley; and her second husband, George E. Cullicott; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ruth Cullicott is survived by 2 children,
Honey (George) Gfroerer and Molly (Richard "Whitey") King; and
her many step-children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
family and friends, mourn the passing of Mary Ruth Hurley
Cullicott; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Mary Ruth Cullicott as an expression
of our sympathy.
