2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" D. Wooters of Findlay, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 29, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was born to Glenn Curtis and Mary | ||||||
6 | Jane (Wycoff) Wooters in Springfield on September 29, 1943; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Findlay High School in 1961; he married Tickie | ||||||
8 | L. Hubbard on June 29, 1962; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Along with his wife, Gene Wooters owned and | ||||||
10 | operated Wooters Sport Shop in Findlay for nearly 50 years; | ||||||
11 | they also operated the Ole Country Church Music and Dance Hall; | ||||||
12 | and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters served the Village of Findlay as | ||||||
14 | mayor for more than 20 years; he also served on the Village | ||||||
15 | board and as Village president; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was a member of Faith Covenant Church | ||||||
17 | in Findlay and the NRA; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was an accomplished musician who | ||||||
19 | played in a number of bands and provided live music to Findlay | ||||||
20 | and the surrounding communities; he enjoyed spending time |

1 | outdoors, fishing and hunting; and
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
3 | and two grandchildren; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters is survived by his wife; his son, | ||||||
5 | Curt Wooters (Melissa); his daughter, Michele Ohm (Scott); his | ||||||
6 | brothers, Glenn Wooters and Dwayne Wooters; five | ||||||
7 | grandchildren, Ashlee Pritchett (Jared), Alayna White | ||||||
8 | (Matthew), Anna Wooters, Mason Ohm (Alivia), and Caity Ohm; and | ||||||
9 | three great-grandchildren, Palmer Pritchett, Nora Ohm, and | ||||||
10 | Nash Ohm; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
13 | Eugene "Gene" D. Wooters and extend our sincere
condolences to | ||||||
14 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
15 | further

16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
