SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Roger William Huddleston, who passed away
on November 23, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was born to Warren and Lillian
Huddleston on May 17, 1947; he married his wonderful wife Margo
on December 1, 1967; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston began his professional career as
an inhalation therapist at Mercy Hospital; he was also a
nursing-home administrator for five years, worked in the family
business at Country Side Mobile Homes, sold insurance for
Bankers Life and Foremost, worked as the general manager of
Dream Homes, owned Roger Huddleston Homes, and served as a
consultant for various businesses in the manufactured housing
industry; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was a member of the Sangamon
Valley Christian Center; his passions led him to service in a
variety of organizations, including the Illinois Manufactured
Housing Association and the Mahomet Area Youth Club; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston had a commanding voice and became
a gifted writer, using that voice; he enjoyed writing and used

his talent to help to create legislation that ensured
affordable housing, as to write poetry and beautiful letters
for his family and friends; he was a lifelong fan of the
Fighting Illini and served as co-founder of the Honor the Chief
Society; he was a true people person and enjoyed the company of
others; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was preceded in death by his
parents; his sister, Susan Manierston; and his brother, David
Huddleston; and
WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston is survived by his wife of nearly
53 years, Margo; four sons, Matthew (Sonja), Burton (Meiby),
Joseph (Lauren) and Joshua; his daughter, Deborah Janczewski
(Jeff); his seven grandchildren; his three
great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Huddleston; and his
brother, James Huddleston; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Roger William Huddleston and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Roger Huddleston as an expression of
