| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gregory K. "Greg" Crawford of Monticello, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on August 16, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford was born to Gilbert R. and Marian | ||||||
6 | Powell Crawford in Decatur on February 15, 1946; he married | ||||||
7 | Georgette Lynn Charpentier in Saint Louis on September 9, 1967; | ||||||
8 | he graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in | ||||||
9 | 1968; he was a proud member of the National Guard; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford was a founder and owner of the CF&H | ||||||
11 | Insurance Agency, Inc. for over 36 years; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford had a passion for community service; | ||||||
13 | he served as the Piatt County EMA communications officer and as | ||||||
14 | a trained local weather spotter; he also managed the Monticello | ||||||
15 | Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford gave freely of his time and talents | ||||||
17 | to many organizations; he was a boy Scout Leader for many | ||||||
18 | years; for his leadership and service as a Boy Scout Leader, he | ||||||
19 | was honored by the Order of the Arrow with the Vigil Honor and | ||||||
20 | with the Silver Beaver Award; and

1 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford was a member of Christ Lutheran | ||||||
2 | Church in Monticello, Monticello Masonic Lodge 58 AF & AM, the | ||||||
3 | Sullivan American Legion, the Monticello Rotary Club, the | ||||||
4 | Monticello Golf Club, the Champaign Ski and Adventure Club, the | ||||||
5 | Corvette Club of Illinois, and the Piatt County Amateur Radio | ||||||
6 | Club; he was named Monticello's Citizen of the Year in 2014; | ||||||
7 | and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford was preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | parents; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Greg Crawford is survived by his wife of 52 years, | ||||||
11 | Lynn; his daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Tim) Stock; his son, | ||||||
12 | Matthew (Kelly) Crawford; his grandson, Benjamin Crawford; his | ||||||
13 | brothers, Rick (Lucille) Crawford and Dale (Suzy) Crawford; his | ||||||
14 | sisters, Sharon (Dave) Walker and Janis (Don) Typer; his many | ||||||
15 | nieces and nephews and their children; and several exchange | ||||||
16 | students from around the world to whom he was a father or | ||||||
17 | grandfather; therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
20 | Gregory "Greg" K. Crawford and extend our sincere
condolences | ||||||
21 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be | ||||||
22 | it further
