2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Regina Kuehn, who passed away on May 21, | ||||||
4 | 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was born in Berlin, Germany; she was | ||||||
6 | a 55-year resident of Oak Park; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn and her husband, Heinz, not only | ||||||
8 | endured and survived the final days of the Nazi regime in | ||||||
9 | Berlin and the chaotic aftermath, but managed to pull off their | ||||||
10 | wedding; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was an expert in Catholic liturgy and | ||||||
12 | church architecture; she was also instrumental in the redesign | ||||||
13 | of Ascension Church following the Second Vatican Council in the | ||||||
14 | mid-1960s and served as a consultant for other area churches; | ||||||
15 | and

16 | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was preceded in death by her husband, | ||||||
17 | Heinz Kuehn; a grandson, Marcel Fremont; a | ||||||
18 | great-granddaughter, Ava Lindamood; her parents, Max and | ||||||
19 | Elisabeth Nowak; and a brother, Wolfgang Nowak; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Regina Kuehn was the mother of Angelika, Birgitta |

2 | (Lynn Wesley), Veronica (Rick Fremont), and Gloria Harrington | ||||||

4 | Aaron Kuehn (Orchid), Erica Haczkiewicz, Nathan Fremont | ||||||
5 | (Juliette Mizicko), Sara Kuehn, Stephen Kuehn (Jennifer | ||||||
6 | Kolba), Kate Kuehn, Sophia Angele-Kuehn, and Johanna | ||||||
7 | Angele-Kuehn; and great-grandmother of Christian, Buckminster, | ||||||
8 | Sebastian and Evelyn; she is also survived by her friends, | ||||||

10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | ||||||
12 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Regina Kuehn; and be | ||||||
13 | it further
