2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Ann L. Silk of Johnsburg, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on September 7, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ann Silk was born on August 13, 1938 in Chicago to | ||||||
6 | Joseph and Victoria (nee Donati) Krawiec; she married Frank | ||||||
7 | Silk, Sr. on June 15, 1957 in Chicago; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Prior to retirement, Ann Silk was a valued | ||||||
9 | associate of Arlington Industries of Libertyville and also of | ||||||
10 | Drieske Florist of Wheeling; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Ann Silk was a great cook, a doting grandmother, | ||||||
12 | an avid shopper and fashion expert; cruises with her husband, | ||||||
13 | Frank, were a favorite activity and she especially enjoyed the | ||||||
14 | Alaska cruises; she also loved to entertain and had a big | ||||||
15 | heart, always willing to help her fellow neighbors and friends; | ||||||
16 | her circle of friends included several ladies calling | ||||||
17 | themselves "the golden girls"; and

18 | WHEREAS, Ann Silk is survived by her husband of 57 years, | ||||||
19 | Frank; 4 children, Dawn Silk, Joyce (Peter) Becker, Frank Jr. | ||||||
20 | (Lisa) Silk, and Vicki (Robert) Silk-VanOrmer; 9 | ||||||
21 | grandchildren, Nicole and Joseph Steinman, Joseph and Meghan |

1 | Becker, Frankie and Ava Silk, Lucas, Matthew, and Sydney | ||||||
2 | VanOrmer; a great-grandchild, Baby Paul; and her life-long | ||||||
3 | friend, Lorraine Guerino; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Ann L. Silk, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | ||||||
7 | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
9 | presented to the family of Ann Silk as an expression of our | ||||||
10 | deepest sympathy.
