2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Robert Joseph Mierzwa of East Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 22, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Robert Mierzwa was born in Chicago to Peter and | ||||||
6 | Mary Mierzwa on December 6, 1919; he served in the United | ||||||
7 | States Marine Corps during World War II and saw action in | ||||||
8 | Okinawa and during the occupation of Japan; he married Thelma | ||||||
9 | Cecilia Halter in Chicago on April 11, 1942; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Robert Mierzwa was a tool and die maker at | ||||||
11 | McCormick Place in Chicago; he retired as the tool room manager | ||||||
12 | from International Harvester in East Moline on February 28, | ||||||
13 | 1982 after 44 years; he served on the board at IH Mississippi | ||||||
14 | Credit Union for 42 years; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Robert Mierzwa was an avid hunter and fisherman | ||||||
16 | and an expert rifleman; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Robert Mierzwa was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents; his sister, Irene Ortinau; and his brother, Norbert | ||||||
19 | Mierzwa; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Robert Mierzwa is survived by his wife, Thelma; |

1 | his daughter, Marilyn Alling; his son, Ronald Mierzwa; his | ||||||
2 | grandchildren, Dennis Mierzwa, Jennifer (Rick) Corder, Matthew | ||||||
3 | Mierzwa, Allison (Michael) Finocchi, and Christopher Alling; | ||||||
4 | and his great-grandchildren, Kyle Mierzwa, Journey Mierzwa, | ||||||
5 | and Jameson Finocchi; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Robert Joseph Mierzwa, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
9 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
