2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Walter J. Grygiel of Crystal Lake, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on February 12, 2018; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was born in Chicago to Lawrence and | ||||||
6 | Agatha (Jakubowicz) Grygiel on September 16, 1921; he served | ||||||
7 | his country as an Aviation Cadet for the Navy with Army | ||||||
8 | Military services from 1942 until 1946; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel had a strong work ethic and retired | ||||||
10 | as a lithographer at the age of 70; he was a creative and | ||||||
11 | skilled craftsman with a passion for technology; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was a member of the Knights of | ||||||
13 | Columbus 3880 Fourth Degree for St. Thomas Church in Crystal | ||||||
14 | Lake; he served his church community by preparing the monthly | ||||||
15 | newsletter for the Knights of Columbus; he had a lifelong | ||||||
16 | interest in fishing, aviation, and astronomy; he found joy in | ||||||
17 | music, sports, internet searches on topics of interest, and | ||||||
18 | discussions about current politics; and

19 | WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
20 | Lorraine; and

1 | WHEREAS, Walter Grygiel is survived by his son, Larry | ||||||
2 | Grygiel; his daughter, Nancy (Harry) Reczek; and his | ||||||
3 | granddaughters, Brooke Grygiel and Sarah (Cesar) Cardona; | ||||||
4 | therefore, be it

5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
7 | Walter J. Grygiel and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to the family of Walter Grygiel as an expression of | ||||||
12 | our deepest sympathy.
