| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Gregg Steven Chadwick of Bloomington, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 9, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick was born in Dexter, Maine; he was | ||||||
6 | adopted at birth by Jeanne and Harold Chadwick, and they | ||||||
7 | preceded him in death; he grew up in Warwick, Rhode Island; he | ||||||
8 | went to Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island; | ||||||
9 | he earned his undergraduate degree and MBA from Boston | ||||||
10 | University; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick worked as a healthcare executive | ||||||
12 | and managed several local medical practices, including the | ||||||
13 | University of Illinois College of Medicine Pediatric | ||||||
14 | Department and the Decatur Memorial Hospital; he became a | ||||||
15 | Certified Medical Practice Executive and was president of the | ||||||
16 | Illinois Medical Group Management Association in 2014; his | ||||||
17 | recent and most meaningful work was as the chief operating | ||||||
18 | officer at Marcfirst, a non-profit agency serving people with | ||||||
19 | developmental disabilities; and

20 | WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick prioritized civic work, | ||||||
21 | volunteerism, and giving back; he was a hospice volunteer in | ||||||
22 | Boston in the 1980s; after moving to Illinois, he coached chess |

1 | and served on the Citizens Advisory Council with the Unit 5 | ||||||
2 | school board; he served on the Peoria Area World Affairs | ||||||
3 | Council Board of Directors, the Multicultural Leadership | ||||||
4 | Program Advisory Board, B-N Advantage, and the Illinois Prairie | ||||||
5 | Community Foundation Board of Directors; he was a board member | ||||||
6 | of Heartland Community College for 18 years and served as a | ||||||
7 | board chair for 11 years; he held several positions on the | ||||||
8 | Illinois Community College Trustee Association (ICCTA) | ||||||
9 | Executive Board, and he began his term as president of ICCTA in | ||||||
10 | 2020; he was awarded the Ray Hartstein Trustee Achievement | ||||||
11 | Award in 2020; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick will be remembered for being a very | ||||||
13 | smart problem-solver, a good human being, and a gentle, loving | ||||||
14 | soul; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick is survived by his wife, Robyn; his | ||||||
16 | children, Avery, Hallie, and Ben; his adopted brother; his two | ||||||
17 | biological brothers; his two biological sisters; his nephews; | ||||||
18 | his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brothers-in-law; his | ||||||
19 | sister-in-law; and his dear friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
22 | Gregg Steven Chadwick and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
23 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
