SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Gregg Steven Chadwick of Bloomington, who
passed away on September 9, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick was born in Dexter, Maine; he was
adopted at birth by Jeanne and Harold Chadwick, and they
preceded him in death; he grew up in Warwick, Rhode Island; he
went to Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, Rhode Island;
he earned his undergraduate degree and MBA from Boston
University; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick worked as a healthcare executive
and managed several local medical practices, including the
University of Illinois College of Medicine Pediatric
Department and the Decatur Memorial Hospital; he became a
Certified Medical Practice Executive and was president of the
Illinois Medical Group Management Association in 2014; his
recent and most meaningful work was as the chief operating
officer at Marcfirst, a non-profit agency serving people with
developmental disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick prioritized civic work,
volunteerism, and giving back; he was a hospice volunteer in
Boston in the 1980s; after moving to Illinois, he coached chess

and served on the Citizens Advisory Council with the Unit 5
school board; he served on the Peoria Area World Affairs
Council Board of Directors, the Multicultural Leadership
Program Advisory Board, B-N Advantage, and the Illinois Prairie
Community Foundation Board of Directors; he was a board member
of Heartland Community College for 18 years and served as a
board chair for 11 years; he held several positions on the
Illinois Community College Trustee Association (ICCTA)
Executive Board, and he began his term as president of ICCTA in
2020; he was awarded the Ray Hartstein Trustee Achievement
Award in 2020; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick will be remembered for being a very
smart problem-solver, a good human being, and a gentle, loving
soul; and
WHEREAS, Gregg Chadwick is survived by his wife, Robyn; his
children, Avery, Hallie, and Ben; his adopted brother; his two
biological brothers; his two biological sisters; his nephews;
his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brothers-in-law; his
sister-in-law; and his dear friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Gregg Steven Chadwick and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
