SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Diane Elaine Rawlings of
Jacksonville, who passed away on November 8, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings was born to Richard Orr and Edra
Pauline Henry Johnson in Portsmouth, Virginia on December 14,
1945; she graduated from Triopia High School; she married
Richard G. "Dick" Rawlings on April 29, 1978; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings began her 46 and a half year
banking career at Farmers State Bank in Jacksonville; she
began as a teller, was promoted to manager of the West Morton
Avenue facility, and later returned to the main bank as a
customer service supervisor; she was named vice president of
Human Resources and Marketing in 1997 and eventually retired
in 2015; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings served as president of the Morgan
County Women's Republican Club and held lifetime memberships
in the Kappa Omega Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Passavant
Hospital Auxiliary; she was also involved in the Jacksonville
Area Chamber of Commerce, the Art Association of Jacksonville,
and the Prairieland United Way and volunteered for the CACHE
drives; and

WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings enjoyed playing bridge and was an
avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; she adored her family and
enjoyed taking family vacations, spending time on their
houseboat, and taking Sunday drives with her husband; and
WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings was preceded in death by her
husband and her three brothers, Richard Lee Johnson and his
wife Gerry, Kenneth Wayne Johnson, and Donald Earl Johnson;
and
WHEREAS, Diane Rawlings is survived by her two children,
Monica (Christopher) Carroll and Michael Rawlings; her four
grandchildren, Jackson Carroll, Elaine Carroll, Nate Rawlings,
and Olivia Rawlings; her two sisters-in-law, Judy Johnson and
Carol Johnson; and her several nieces and nephews; therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Diane Elaine Rawlings and extend our sincere condolences to
her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Diane Rawlings as an expression of
