1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Fred Lue of Carbon Cliff, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on November 5, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue was born to Fred and Ila Forbes Lue in | ||||||
6 | Rock Island on November 20, 1943; he served in the U.S. Army in | ||||||
7 | Europe from 1963 to 1966; he married Patricia Tolliver in East | ||||||
8 | Moline on December 27, 1977; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue was employed with his father at the | ||||||
10 | Plantation Nite Club during his last part of high school | ||||||
11 | before joining the U.S. Army; after his military service, he | ||||||
12 | was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal, where he served in | ||||||
13 | various computer-related positions for 37 years; during this | ||||||
14 | time, he was awarded the Civilian Achievement Award; and

15 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders | ||||||
16 | in Iowa and Illinois; he also belonged to Marine Moms, All | ||||||
17 | Vets, American Legion Post 26, Soldier Angels, Honor Flight of | ||||||
18 | the Quad Cities, and All Vets Healing Field of the Quad Cities; | ||||||
19 | and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue spent time building plastic military | ||||||
21 | models and enjoyed playing guitar in bands over the years, |

1 | including the Royal Rockers during high school, Gemeni 5 while | ||||||
2 | in Germany, and later with the Sunrise band; he also enjoyed | ||||||
3 | reading and visiting historical sites; he especially enjoyed | ||||||
4 | homecomings of military personnel at the Quad Cities Airport; | ||||||
5 | more than anything, he loved spending time with his wife, | ||||||
6 | children, and grandchildren; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Fred Lue is survived by his wife of 44 years, | ||||||
10 | Patricia Lue; his children, Jeremy (Britta) Lue, Ken Lue, Tim | ||||||
11 | (Lyndsey) Lue, Kim Congleton, and Chris Congleton; and his | ||||||
12 | grandchildren, Alexis, Noah, and Leo; therefore, be it
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Fred Lue and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
16 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
18 | presented to the family of Fred Lue as an expression of our | ||||||
19 | deepest sympathy.
