2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Annie Bell Wilson of Chicago, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on January 27, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Annie Wilson was born in Aliceville, Alabama to | ||||||
6 | Israel and Annie Spann on April 25, 1933; she attended | ||||||
7 | Elementary Vocational School in Kenlock, Mississippi; she | ||||||
8 | relocated from Alabama to Isola, Mississippi; she married | ||||||
9 | Percy Wilson on July 30, 1949; she relocated from Mississippi | ||||||
10 | to Chicago; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Annie Wilson worked at Rice and Steel Inc. and | ||||||
12 | the Local 25 Service Employees of International Union (SEIU) | ||||||
13 | until she retired; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Annie Wilson committed to her faith at the age of | ||||||
15 | 13 at the Morning Star Baptist Church; she attended Cathedral | ||||||
16 | Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, where she served on the | ||||||
17 | usher board for 40 years and loved going to church; she will be | ||||||
18 | remembered as a devoted mother to her seven children; and

19 | WHEREAS, Annie Wilson was preceded in death by her | ||||||
20 | parents; her children, Robert Wilson, Roger Spann, and Annie | ||||||
21 | Jean Cobbins; and her siblings, Irene Jiminson, Mary Haynes, |

1 | Emma Shanklin, Julius Spann, Sherman Spann, Reverend Joseph | ||||||
2 | Spann, and Daniel "Matthew" Spann; and

3 | WHEREAS, Annie Wilson is survived by her children, Sammie | ||||||
4 | Spann, Georgia Pope, Brenda Miller, and Arrie Wilson; her | ||||||
5 | grandchildren, Taurice (Lynnell) Julian, Justin, Nathaniel, | ||||||
6 | Keyawn, Roberto, Reinaldo, Alonzo (Ruth), Dyvonna, Ginger | ||||||
7 | (Mark), Termeakiss, Terneako, Dianca, Precious, and Faith; her | ||||||
8 | great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her | ||||||
9 | siblings, Bernice Watkins (Bryant), Elder Lenora Bush, and | ||||||
10 | Evangelist Isabelle Simmons (Leonard); and a host of nieces, | ||||||
11 | nephews, cousins, church family, and friends; therefore, be it

12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
14 | Annie Bell Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
16 | further

17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
