| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Jerry D. Lemmon II of Springfield, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on May 5, 2020; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was born to Jerry D. Lemmon Sr. and | ||||||
| 6 | Anne (Mathias) Lemmon in Springfield on February 23, 1968; he | ||||||
| 7 | attended Christ the King Grade School and Griffin High School | ||||||
| 8 | and graduated from Indiana University, where he was a member of | ||||||
| 9 | the Sigma Chi Fraternity; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was one of the seven original | ||||||
| 11 | Broker/Partner/Owners of The Real Estate Group and had a very | ||||||
| 12 | successful career in real estate; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was a member of the Island Bay Yacht | ||||||
| 14 | Club, Aqua Club, and Sigma Chi Fraternity; he was a Life Member | ||||||
| 15 | of Christ the King Parish; he was an active contributor and | ||||||
| 16 | advocate for the First Step Women's Crisis Center and served as | ||||||
| 17 | auctioneer for many charity events in the Springfield area; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon enjoyed traveling to tropical | ||||||
| 19 | locations to visit his loving sister and her fiancé; he was | ||||||
| 20 | everyone's weatherman, keeping friends and loved ones updated | ||||||
| 21 | on upcoming storms; his favorite pastimes were attending Sacred | ||||||

| 1 | Heart-Griffin football games as well as boating, golfing, | ||||||
| 2 | fishing, and being near the ocean; he was a compassionate man | ||||||
| 3 | with a heart of gold, who would help anyone at any time; he | ||||||
| 4 | will be especially remembered for his sense of humor; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon was preceded in death by his father | ||||||
| 6 | and his grandparents; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Jerry Lemmon is survived by his beloved mother, | ||||||
| 8 | Anne; his sister, Lisa Lemmon (fiancé Jason Godin); his | ||||||
| 9 | half-brother, Richard Tuxhorn, his special friends Brenda and | ||||||
| 10 | Tate (Scarbrough) Weddigen, Jim, and Foxer; and his several | ||||||
| 11 | aunts, uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 13 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 14 | Jerry D. Lemmon II and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
| 15 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
| 16 | further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 18 | presented to the family of Jerry Lemmon as an expression of
our | ||||||
| 19 | deepest sympathy.
