2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of John Robert "Bob" Grove of East | ||||||
4 | Moline, who passed away on October 23, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove was born to John Harold and Lois | ||||||
6 | (Moore) Grove in St. Louis, Missouri on July 6, 1931; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Millikin University in Decatur; he served in | ||||||
8 | the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict; he married Shirley | ||||||
9 | D. Rambo in Decatur on March 26, 1955, and she preceded him in | ||||||
10 | death on February 29, 2012; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove was an engineering professional who | ||||||
12 | worked for AMETEK in Illinois and Pennsylvania; he later | ||||||
13 | retired from H.C. Duke in East Moline; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove was a member of First Christian Church | ||||||
15 | of East Moline for many decades, where he served in a variety | ||||||
16 | of leadership roles; he was also a member of Kiwanis for over | ||||||
17 | 40 years; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove enjoyed bowling in his younger years, | ||||||
19 | traveling in his RV around the country with his wife, | ||||||
20 | tinkering around his house and yard, and woodworking; and

1 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove was preceded in death by his wife; his | ||||||
2 | daughter, Terri Grove; his brother, Richard Grove; his | ||||||
3 | sister-in-law, Annette Grove; and his brother-in-law, Jim | ||||||
4 | Stiner; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Grove is survived by his children, Tina Grove | ||||||
6 | and Todd Grove; his many nieces and nephews; and his | ||||||
7 | sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; therefore, be it
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
10 | John Robert "Bob" Grove and extend our sincere
condolences to | ||||||
11 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
12 | further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
