2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Jack L. Burlison of Elwood, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on May 15, 2020; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jack Burlison was born in Benton to Raymond and | ||||||
6 | Ollie Burlison on May 30, 1936; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Jack Burlison delivered Hamm's Beer for 28 years | ||||||
8 | and worked for Consumers Liquors for 30 years; he was an Elwood | ||||||
9 | volunteer fireman for 21 years, a Jackson Township Trustee for | ||||||
10 | 24 years, and a charter member and treasurer of the Elwood | ||||||
11 | Lions Club until it disbanded; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Jack Burlison was affectionately called "Crabby"; | ||||||
13 | he was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals all his life; he | ||||||
14 | was able to attend numerous Cardinal World Series games and the | ||||||
15 | 2009 All-Star game that was held in St. Louis; he enjoyed bird | ||||||
16 | watching and playing cards; he loved getting together with | ||||||
17 | family and friends for a good poker game and occasionally | ||||||
18 | visiting the casino; and

19 | WHEREAS, Jack Burlison was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents; seven sisters; and three brothers; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jack Burlison is survived by his wife, Judy | ||||||
2 | (Heddins) Burlison; his daughter, Cynthia (Clay) Johnson; his | ||||||
3 | son, Jeffrey (Lorie) Burlison; his granddaughters, Christy | ||||||
4 | (Phil) Vojtanek, Jacquelyn (Bobby) Purchase, and Stacey (Cory | ||||||
5 | Campbell) Lohmar; his step-grandchildren, Sarah (Jason) | ||||||
6 | McMillin, Matt Johnson, and Adam (Christina) Johnson; his | ||||||
7 | great-grandchildren, Camden and Kennedy Purchase; nine | ||||||
8 | step-great-grandchildren; and his brother, David Burlison; | ||||||
9 | therefore, be it

10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
12 | Jack L. Burlison and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
13 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
14 | further

15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
16 | presented to the family of Jack Burlison as an expression of | ||||||
17 | our deepest sympathy.
