2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Florence Marie Willborn, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on December 10, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Florence Willborn was born in Chicago to Henry and | ||||||
6 | Josephine Davis on December 26, 1938; she attended Douglas | ||||||
7 | Elementary and graduated from Englewood High School; she | ||||||
8 | married William "Sonny" Willborn in 1955; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Florence Willborn worked in public service for 48 | ||||||
10 | years, first for Cook County, and then for the Illinois | ||||||
11 | Department of Human Services; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Florence Willborn was a member of King of Kings | ||||||
13 | Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother's | ||||||
14 | Board; she was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and | ||||||
15 | Sisters Network Inc,; she enjoyed being surrounded by family | ||||||
16 | and friends; she was known as an excellent cook, the ultimate | ||||||
17 | hostess, a world traveler, and a fashionista; she was an | ||||||
18 | inspiration for many; and

19 | WHEREAS, Florence Willborn was preceded in death by her | ||||||
20 | brother, Henry Davis; and

1 | WHEREAS, Florence Willborn is survived by her husband, | ||||||
2 | William; her daughters, Aubrey (Gregory) Powell and DeLinda | ||||||
3 | Wakil-Robinson; her siblings, Bette Perry and Gerald Davis; her | ||||||
4 | grandchildren, John, Ben, Jacob, Isaac, Malia, DeLinda, | ||||||
5 | Abraham, and Kyla; her great-grandchildren; and her many | ||||||
6 | nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
9 | Florence Marie Willborn and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
10 | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
11 | further

12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
13 | presented to the family of Florence Willborn as an expression | ||||||
