| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Stan Hoselton of Lexington, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on April 12, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton was born on March 31, 1935 to C.T. | ||||||
6 | and Marcella (nee Friederich) Hoselton, Sr.; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Chenoa High School in 1953 and Illinois State University (ISU) | ||||||
8 | in 1957 with a degree in industrial technology; he played | ||||||
9 | football at ISU with his brother, Ted, and later played a year | ||||||
10 | for the Chicago Cardinals football team, becoming an NFL Alumni | ||||||
11 | member; he married Gaye Cramer on February 14, 1987; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton, along with his brothers, Ted and | ||||||
13 | Ray, owned and operated Union Roofing for many years; he served | ||||||
14 | on the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association and the National | ||||||
15 | Roofing Contractors Association; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton served as Mayor of Chenoa from 1983 | ||||||
17 | to 1995, and was President of the McLean County Mayor's | ||||||
18 | Association; he was a McLean County Board member beginning in | ||||||
19 | 1996, serving as Chairman of the McLean County Transportation | ||||||
20 | Committee; and

21 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton was very involved in the Chenoa |

1 | community; he was part of the group that helped establish the | ||||||
2 | Chenoa swimming pool and served as President of the Chenoa | ||||||
3 | Jaycees; he was part of the Chenoa Scouting Organization and | ||||||
4 | was a member of the Pontiac Elks Club and the Lake Bloomington | ||||||
5 | Association; he served on the ISU Industrial Technology Board | ||||||
6 | and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights | ||||||
7 | of Columbus, both in Chenoa; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton was preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | parents; one brother, C.T. Hoselton, Jr.; and one sister, | ||||||
10 | Marcella Oltman; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Stan Hoselton is survived by his wife, Gaye; 3 | ||||||
12 | sons, Steven (Connie) Hoselton, Stuart (Jennifer) Hoselton, | ||||||
13 | and Scott (Riley) Hoselton; 3 step-children, Rob (Marlena) | ||||||
14 | Cramer, Deric Cramer, and Cory (Lisa) Cramer; 6 grandchildren, | ||||||
15 | George, Jake, Lauren, Jack, Alex, and Miles Hoselton; 4 | ||||||
16 | step-grandchildren, Brock Cramer and Kyle, Ryan, and Tyler | ||||||
17 | Cramer; and one brother, Ray Hoselton; therefore, be it
| ||||||
18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Stan Hoselton, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
21 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
22 | further
