2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Stephen G. Afferica of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on August 29, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica was born to Stephen George and | ||||||
6 | Mae (Miko) Afferica in Weehawken, New Jersey on November 27, | ||||||
7 | 1935; he served in the U.S. Army for two years; he married | ||||||
8 | Judith Stentz in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 8, | ||||||
9 | 1962; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica worked in management for | ||||||
11 | International Harvester in East Moline for over 26 years, | ||||||
12 | retiring in 1990; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica was an excellent woodworker and | ||||||
14 | ran a Christmas wood craft business for 11 years; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica enjoyed investing, political | ||||||
16 | science, and gardening; he was also an avid Duke University | ||||||
17 | basketball fan; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica is survived by his wife of | ||||||
19 | almost 60 years, Judy; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and | ||||||
20 | Cindy Afferica; and his sister, Joan Afferica; therefore, be |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Stephen G. Afferica and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Stephen Afferica as an expression | ||||||
9 | of our deepest sympathy.
