| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Richard "Rich" Ryza of Des Plaines, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on August 18, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza attended Proviso East High School; | ||||||
6 | he later joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an | ||||||
7 | airplane mechanic; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza worked for 37 years as a heating and | ||||||
9 | air-conditioning installer, retiring from Ibbotson Heating | ||||||
10 | Company; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was a Weblos and Boy Scout Leader | ||||||
12 | with Pack and Troop 25 in Des Plaines; he volunteered at the | ||||||
13 | Des Plaines Self Help Food Pantry and was captain of the Forest | ||||||
14 | Avenue Neighborhood Watch for many years; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza's family was always the most | ||||||
16 | important thing to him; he loved his home and enjoyed working | ||||||
17 | on it; he also enjoyed model railroading, woodworking, | ||||||
18 | dancing, camping, and golf; he would always be willing to go | ||||||
19 | out of his way to lend a helping hand; and

20 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza was preceded in death by his |

| |||||||
1 | daughter, Deborah; his parents, Marie and Paul; and his | ||||||
2 | brother, Paul Ryza; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Richard Ryza is survived by his loving wife of 60 | ||||||
4 | years, Ruth; his children, David and Greg; his | ||||||
5 | daughter-in-law, Kim; his three grandchildren, Rachel, Kylie, | ||||||
6 | and Zach; his sister, Venessa Riley; his brother-in-law, James | ||||||
7 | Riley; and his half brother, Paul Richardson; therefore, be it
| ||||||
8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
10 | Richard "Rich" Ryza and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
11 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
12 | further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
