2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Jennifer McDevitt, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | November 16, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jennifer A. McDevitt (nee, Galloway) was born | ||||||
6 | October 4, 1974; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, She was awarded the Tim Guillikson Spirit Award | ||||||
8 | for being a brain tumor patient that had embraced the fighting | ||||||
9 | spirit and positive attitude that gives hope to others; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, After her diagnosis with a malignant brain tumor, | ||||||
11 | she took up marathon running, participating in several Chicago | ||||||
12 | marathons and becoming an inspiration to others; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, She leaves her beloved husband, Glen; her | ||||||
14 | beautiful son, Jack; her parents, Richard and Margaret; her | ||||||
15 | brother, Christopher (Angela); her nieces, McKenzie and | ||||||
16 | Maddison; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins; | ||||||
17 | therefore, be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
20 | her family and friends, the passing of Jennifer McDevitt; and |
