| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Thomas J. "Tom" Cook of Oswego, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on November 28, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook graduated from Mt. Carmel High School | ||||||
| 6 | in Chicago in 1957; he was very active with the school's Alumni | ||||||
| 7 | Group; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook worked with the R.C. Wegman | ||||||
| 9 | Construction Company on many local projects, his proudest being | ||||||
| 10 | the Hollywood Casino in Aurora; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was a proud member of many | ||||||
| 12 | associations and organizations within the Aurora community, | ||||||
| 13 | including the Rotary Club, the Aurora Contractors Association, | ||||||
| 14 | the Fox Valley Corvette Club, and the Aurora Economic | ||||||
| 15 | Development Commission; he was also co-chairman of the | ||||||
| 16 | Millennium Plaza of Aurora, chairman of the board of 'Seize the | ||||||
| 17 | Future', and a past chairman of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce; | ||||||
| 18 | and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was a member of the New Life Church in | ||||||
| 20 | Yorkville and served on the church's Board of Directors; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook enjoyed boating, motorcycles, and | ||||||
| 2 | cars, especially Corvettes; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Thomas Cook was the beloved husband of Jean (nee | ||||||
| 4 | Jacobsen); the loving father of Thomas Jr. (Donna), Kathryn, | ||||||
| 5 | Michael (Janel), and John (Trisha); and the cherished | ||||||
| 6 | grandfather of Michael, Alex, Danielle, R.J. Miranda, Ashley, | ||||||
| 7 | Alyssa, Ainslee, Matthew, Chase, Nicole, and Hayden; he is also | ||||||
| 8 | survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and | ||||||
| 9 | friends; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 12 | his family and friends, the passing of Thomas J. "Tom" Cook; | ||||||
| 13 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to the family of Thomas Cook as an expression of our | ||||||
| 16 | sympathy.
