SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mildred Postich of Delavan, Wisconsin,
4formerly of Waukegan, who passed away on November 23, 2012; and
5 WHEREAS, Mildred Postich was born in Yugoslavia; at the age
6of 18, she immigrated to the United States; and
7 WHEREAS, Mildred Postich met her future husband, Fred
8Postich, in Gary, Indiana; the couple married in 1938 and moved
9to North Chicago, where they built a home and had 5 children;
10she stayed home raising the children, while Fred worked nearly
11around the clock to provide for the family; the couple later
12built their second home in Waukegan; following her husband's
13passing in 1986, she continued to live with her son, Steve
14(Sia); after Steve's passing in 2001, she sold her home and
15went to live with her daughter, Judi, in Delavan, Wisconsin;
16and
17 WHEREAS, Mildred Postich enjoyed teaching Serbian words,
18watching game shows, and especially watching wrestling
19together with Bill, her daughter's companion; and
20 WHEREAS, Mildred Postich was preceded in death by her
21husband, Fred; her son, Steve (Sia); her brother, Mike

1Romcevich; and her parents; and
2 WHEREAS, Mildred Postich is survived by her children, Mary
3Ann Cavener, Mike Postich, Judi Lampinen, and Sam Postich; her
4sister, Mary Stack; her nieces and nephews; her 2
5sisters-in-law, her many grandchildren and
6great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchild;
7therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10his family and friends, the passing of Mildred Postich; and be
11it further
12 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mildred Postich as an expression of
14our sympathy.
