2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert Eugene "Bob" Trainor, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 21, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor was born to George R. and Frances | ||||||
6 | (Henderson) Trainor on April 4, 1941; he served in the U.S. | ||||||
7 | Navy from 1966 to 1970 and was stationed in a variety of | ||||||
8 | locales, including Hawaii, Bahrain, and Saigon; he married R. | ||||||
9 | Kathryn Chiola in 1971; he then married Cynthia (Buck) Ketchum | ||||||
10 | in 1986; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor worked for the State of Illinois | ||||||
12 | Department of Children and Family Services for 31 years, | ||||||
13 | retiring in 2001 as a contract administrator; after | ||||||
14 | retirement, he became an active volunteer at HSHS St. John's | ||||||
15 | Hospital for 15 years; and

16 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor loved home renovation projects; he | ||||||
17 | enjoyed riding his lawn mower and driving his beloved truck; | ||||||
18 | his passion was woodworking, and he created a variety of | ||||||
19 | items, including dollhouses, rocking horses, toy chests, | ||||||
20 | birdhouses, and signs; he was a die-hard Green Bay Packers | ||||||
21 | fan, and his activities revolved around their game schedule; | ||||||
22 | his favorite player was Brett Favre, and he even owned stock in |

1 | the franchise; he also loved the Boston Red Sox and Ted | ||||||
2 | Williams; he was a member of St. John Vianney Parish in | ||||||
3 | Sherman; and

4 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor loved his family; he was an active | ||||||
5 | and present father and grandfather; he loved watching his | ||||||
6 | grandchildren in their activities and performances; he never | ||||||
7 | missed an opportunity to let them know how proud he was of them | ||||||
8 | and how much he loved them; he and Cindy enjoyed a full and | ||||||
9 | wonderful life together, and they enjoyed traveling to Marco | ||||||
10 | Island, Florida, spending time with their life-long friends, | ||||||
11 | and working to make a comfortable and fulfilling life | ||||||
12 | together; and

13 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
14 | and his sister, Janet K. Rapps; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Bob Trainor is survived by his wife of 38 years, | ||||||
16 | Cynthia; his daughter, Amy (Richard) Stewart; his son, Anthony | ||||||
17 | (Tanja) Trainor; his stepdaughters, Nicki Benjamin, Christy | ||||||
18 | (Warren) Woodward, and Lisa (Kenneth) Gower; his | ||||||
19 | grandchildren, Jackson "Jackie", Sophia, Isabelle, and | ||||||
20 | Charlotte Stewart and Annabel and Josephine Trainor; his | ||||||
21 | step-grandchildren, Kyle Callarman, Tarryn Benjamin, Caroline | ||||||
22 | and Jillian Woodward, Kayleigh Ketchum, and Emily and Ryan | ||||||
23 | Gower; his niece, Kristen (Leo) Navar; his nephew, Paul |

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
5 | Robert Eugene "Bob" Trainor and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
6 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
