| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John A. Killam, who passed away on August | ||||||
4 | 24, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, John Killam was born on October 19, 1923 in rural | ||||||
6 | Morgan County; his parents were John S. and Pearl Bowlds | ||||||
7 | Killam; he married Helen L. Cox on December 14, 1947 at the | ||||||
8 | Lynnville Christian Church; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, John Killam farmed and raised livestock west of | ||||||
10 | Jacksonville for many years; he also served as a Morgan County | ||||||
11 | Commissioner for 12 years and was active as a lobbyist for | ||||||
12 | agricultural interests; he received many awards for his work in | ||||||
13 | the advancement of the livestock industry in Illinois; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, John Killam was a fan of automobile racing and | ||||||
15 | enjoyed antique tractors and steam power; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, John Killam was preceded in death by his sons, | ||||||
17 | John Paul Killam and James Killam; his sisters, Irene Killam | ||||||
18 | McCollough and Mary Catherine; and a half-sister; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, John Killam is survived by his wife, Helen; his | ||||||
20 | children, Rob Killam and Lenore Killam; his grandson, John Paul |

1 | Killam; and his sisters, Angela Guthrie and Ruth (Larry) | ||||||
2 | Martinez; therefore, be it

3 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
4 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
5 | family and friends, mourn the passing of John A. Killam; and be | ||||||
6 | it further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of John Killam as an expression of our | ||||||
9 | sympathy.
