2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Frank J. Sandoval of Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 11, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was born to Encarnacion "Jack" and | ||||||
6 | Ladislada Rangel Sandoval in Silvis on January 29, 1934; he | ||||||
7 | served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division of the | ||||||
8 | U.S. Army during the Korean War, earning the National Defense | ||||||
9 | Service Medal and a Parachute Badge; he married Theresa | ||||||
10 | (Beily) Buzea on September 17, 1994; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was the owner of Sandoval's Barber | ||||||
12 | Shop, a well-known business located on the west end of Moline; | ||||||
13 | he cut and styled hair for more than half a century; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was passionate about collecting | ||||||
15 | doodads; he was talented in shooting pool, playing his | ||||||
16 | harmonica, and cooking, and his specialty was making the best | ||||||
17 | frijoles in the Quad Cities; he was a fan of the St. Louis | ||||||
18 | Cardinals, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls, and local | ||||||
19 | soccer, and he also enjoyed watching wrestling on TV several | ||||||
20 | nights per week; most of all, he loved his wife, Theresa, and | ||||||
21 | spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and | ||||||
22 | family; and

1 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was well-known for his hard work | ||||||
2 | and generosity, and he helped many neighbors and friends; and

3 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval was preceded in death by his | ||||||
4 | parents; his siblings, Victoria (Alfonse) Lopez, Eloise | ||||||
5 | (Manuel) Montez, Samuel Sandoval, Edmund "Pep" (Pauline) | ||||||
6 | Sandoval, and Dorothy Rangel; and his brothers-in-law, | ||||||
7 | Florencio Puentes and Gilbert Lopez; and

8 | WHEREAS, Frank Sandoval is survived by his wife, Theresa; | ||||||
9 | his children, Lydia (William) Matya, Marc (Tisha) Sandoval, | ||||||
10 | and Sandra Sandoval (Robert) Klouser; his stepchildren, Tammy | ||||||
11 | (Donnie) Palmer, Michael (Tracy) Buzea, and Kenneth (Lisa) | ||||||
12 | Buzea; his grandchildren, Natosha Ramirez, Alex Sandoval, | ||||||
