2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Lawrence "Gary" Morrison, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on June 20, 2012; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was born Sept. 13, 1935, in | ||||||
6 | Richwood Township, Jersey County; his parents were Lawrence and | ||||||
7 | Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison; he married Joyce Flatt on January | ||||||
8 | 1, 1960, in Macomb; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison spent his life as a farmer on | ||||||
10 | the Family Centennial Farm where he was born; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was active in many | ||||||
12 | organizations throughout his life; he served as a director for | ||||||
13 | MJM Electric Cooperative for over 20 years; he was a member of | ||||||
14 | the state-wide AIEC Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and | ||||||
15 | the Adopt a Family Farm Board of Directors; he was a trustee of | ||||||
16 | the Fieldon First Baptist Church, Richwood Township, and | ||||||
17 | Gunterman Cemetery; he was a Richwood Township Republican | ||||||
18 | Committeeman; he was also a member of the Tri-County Antique | ||||||
19 | Club/Cowboy Church and the Jersey County Farm Bureau; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was preceded in death by his | ||||||
21 | parents; his brother, George Morrison; and his sister, Connie |

2 | WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison is survived by his wife, Joyce; | ||||||
3 | his special nephews, Don (Donna) Phillips and David (Lisa) | ||||||
4 | Phillips; his sisters, Janet (Richard) Gilworth, Barbara | ||||||
5 | Scott, Carol (Tom) Vogel, Beverly Phillips, Karen (Pat) | ||||||
6 | Heitzig, and Patty (Bob) Wetzel; his many nieces and nephews; | ||||||
7 | and his foster granddaughter, Jennifer Schultz Dougherty; | ||||||
8 | therefore, be it

9 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
10 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
11 | his family and friends, the passing of Lawrence "Gary" | ||||||
12 | Morrison; and be it further

13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
14 | presented to the family of Lawrence Morrison as an expression | ||||||
15 | of our sympathy.
