| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Bruce D. Pitchford of Girard, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on August 30, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford was born on February 23, 1954 in | ||||||
| 6 | Springfield; his parents were Herschel and Leda June Swaringen | ||||||
| 7 | Pitchford; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served his country as a member of | ||||||
| 9 | the United States Army from 1973 to 1976, being stationed in | ||||||
| 10 | Japan; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford served as an Alderman in Girard | ||||||
| 12 | for 12 years; he subsequently served as Mayor of Girard for 8 | ||||||
| 13 | years; he also served as a tax assessor with Macoupin County | ||||||
| 14 | since 2008; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Bruce Pitchford is survived by a son, Joseph H. | ||||||
| 16 | Pitchford; a brother, Jim (Gloria) Pitchford; and several | ||||||
| 17 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 20 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Bruce D. Pitchford; | ||||||

| 1 | and be it further

| 2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 3 | presented to the family of Bruce Pitchford as an expression of | ||||||
| 4 | our sympathy.
