2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Ralph E. Dixon of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on March 30, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon was born to Francis and Rufas Dixon | ||||||
6 | in Louisville, Kentucky on August 4, 1935; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | the University of Oklahoma; he served in the U.S. Army from | ||||||
8 | 1951 to 1964; he married Margot Riedel, and they had one son, | ||||||
9 | Duane B. Dixon; he married Christie (Dow) Bagge in Crystal | ||||||
10 | River, Florida on January 12, 1998; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon retired from the U.S. Army Armament | ||||||
12 | and Chemical Command after 35 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, In retirement, Ralph Dixon enjoyed spending | ||||||
14 | winters fishing in Florida; he spent many years at his cabin at | ||||||
15 | Roberts Park in Keosauqua, Iowa, where he enjoyed spending | ||||||
16 | treasured time with his son and family, as well as fishing, | ||||||
17 | playing cards with his friends, and stretching the truth at | ||||||
18 | "The Vets"; and

19 | WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
20 | his wife, Margot; his sister, Nancy Luckett; and his brothers, | ||||||
21 | Donald, John, and Leonard Dixon; and

1 | WHEREAS, Ralph Dixon is survived by his wife, Christie; | ||||||
2 | his son, Duane Dixon; his brother, Robert Dixon; his | ||||||
3 | granddaughters, Karla Eaton (Ronny), Angela Barrett (Terry), | ||||||
4 | and Andrea Ryckeghem (Josh); his nieces and nephews; and his | ||||||
5 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Ralph E. Dixon and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Ralph Dixon as an expression of our | ||||||
13 | deepest sympathy.
